Around

I decided to begin an entirely insane project last year which I am tentatively calling Around. It's a looping installation work for surround sound and video.

The idea is that it will end up being an immersive experience in which the audience is entirely surrounded by video (4 channels of projected high definition video) in a circular space. The audio is in eight channels (6 speakers along the walls above the projected video and 2 speakers in the center of the room facing outwards. Below is a quick schematic to show how the room will ideally be set up.

The audience walks around the room and based on where the audience is in the room different things happen in the video and soundtrack. I am currently working on the imagery (photoshop surrealism) and collecting the sound for the audio.

Suffice it to say, this guy isn't going to be done anytime soon... but it's a project, and I'm working on it. I'll be posting some more stills from the video part here soon... and I'll also throw up some render tests when I get to them.
